Press Release: MyOFO.com Launches 1-15-07
Myofo.com an online food ordering website, has set a launch date of January 15st.
The website which is a hybrid of online food ordering sites, offers the ability to make reservations along with the ability to place catering orders. Company President Todd C. Robinson, is quoted as saying "Myofo.com will fill a niche of the corporate office worker. Coming from the corporate world, I understand how much of an event lunch is on a daily basis. Every office has a lunch coordinator, some have several, who have all the menus from local restaurants stuffed in their desk. The "MyGroup" feature, which will be available in the future will allow the user to choose from several restaurants then send an email with a link to the open order to members of their group, the members in turn add items that they would like. The total is itemized for easy collection of money owed from each member. Once the order is complete, it can be placed for delivery or pick up.
Myofo.com has plans to have all types of restaurants, everything from chain restaurants to mom and pop bagel shops. Most online food ordering sites cater to either college students or high end restaurants. Opentable.com targets high end restaurants, campusfood.com caters to college students. Myofo.com will be a combination of several online food ordering models.

Grocery shopping online
You might have driven past their location for years, and then one day you decide to go inside, only to find out that they offer something that you absolutely love or have to have.
The Internet is exactly the same way, I have been on the Internet for about 10 years and I just recently decided to try food shopping online. I have been an online shopper from the beginning. I never had a problem with trusting the merchants that I purchased from. That's why I cannot understand what took me so long to try online food shopping. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind the supermarket, even though it's not one of my favorite things to do, but I don't mind going to the market. My wife has told me that there is something sexy about a man that food shops. So that alone is enough incentive for me to go with her. Going by myself is another matter all together.
One day the food shopping needed to be done, and I drew the assignment. I decide to check online to see if any of the local supermarkets had a website or offered delivery. Approximately 20 minutes later I had schedule for delivery $175 worth of groceries from the very supermarket that I was going to be going to. They had every item on the list that my wife had given me. For a nominal fee of $6.95 they would bring our groceries to our house at a day and time that I specified. The whole time I'm thinking that this is worth every penny of 7 bucks, no shopping carts with a bad wheel, no crying babies, no long check out lines, no price checks, clearly the only way to food shop.
The delivery was scheduled for the next day, our delivery man was on time and courteous.
He also did not drop the 10 bags of groceries at the door, he carried all of the bags to our kitchen. I'm not sure, but I think he would have put them away if I asked. I was more than happy to give him the $7 tip that I gave him. The surprise of the whole thing is that I did not tell my wife that I had scheduled the delivery, after the delivery guy left, come to find out that, figuring out a way to do the food shopping without going to the supermarket is even more sexy.

I'm glad I found Baristanet
When someone says that the service is horrible at a particular restaurant, I don't know if it is fair, owners don't have a never ending pool of good waiters and waitresses to choose from. Could you imagine if they fired the help every time they gave bad service? Every restaurant in the world would have 1 or 2 employees. I also know it can't be easy for restaurant owners to hear people say that their establishment is dirty. I mean there is constructive criticism that can cross the line. I am all for positive feedback, but it is clear some people are trying to attack restaurants for reasons they see fit. Unless I felt as though the service I got from an establishment was bad for a reason, I would assume the usual, that service in ANY restaurant is average at best. Truth be told, most waiters and waitresses do not take pride in what they are doing, so you get what you get. When was the last time you heard anyone say that I want to become a waiter? MOST of the time they are aspiring to do something else, and it is just a job for now. To the waiters and waitresses out there that DO take pride in what they do, please, please, please keep up the good work, and try to brainwash your co-workers into doing the same.
